Mad Cow Protest in Korea

Koreans protest US beef saying it might be contaminated with mad cow prion. The confrontation is about fears that mad cow is spreading. John Titor talked about this problem in the future.

Honda's car of the future?

Honda's car of the future is a hydrogen fuel cell powered beast that does not add carbon dioxide to the air, only water. It should be ready to hit the street in five years.

SUV sales down

GM is having trouble selling the big SUV now that gas is closing in on $5/gal. They pushed SUV trucks instead of hybrids talk about a fatal mistake. Well, now the SUV trucks rust in the car lots and GM is on the way down. Losing 39 billion dollars last year was nothing, I expect a bailout package for GM soon.

I predict a rough road ahead for US automakers. In 1970, the biggest employer was GM and average wage was $19.50, but in 2008 the biggest employer is Wallmart and the average wage is $6.50 so things are getting worse by the minute.

John Titor said internet was big in the future

Many people no longer use newspapers or television for information, but turn to the web for news. John titor predicted that the internet was big in the future. His prediction is becoming more true everyday.

As pulp prices go up, people go to "digital newspapers" over the web. Also, TV over IP will replace broadcast television in the future. What we are seeing is important as we move into the 21st century.

Methusalah Tree

An ancient date palm over 2,000 years old yielded seeds that have now sprouted and we have the ability to see a biblical tree. The new tree from old seeds is creating a stir in science circles as we can now see what this ancient tree looked like. It is truly a historical moment.

It is like taking a time machine back to the past and grabbing an ancient tree.

Is this the last century?

Many time travellers claim that after 2012 they saw an empty world with all cities destroyed. Perhaps, surviving 2100 will be difficult. Global warming will cause sea level rise as well as droughts due to evaporation. The weather will get wild with hypercane superstorms causing devastation.

hdrkid sees UFO

The day before yesterday, hdrkid saw UFO near an area of heavy flooding. Are UFOs time travellers from the future that come to see big events of the past? Did people see a UFO near the Hindenberg? I wonder why sightings are popular right before a major happening.

Dr. Dan Burisch believes that jrods/greys come from an alternate timeline 45,000 and 52,000 years in the future. The are concerned about an event that takes place in 2012.

Time Travel Machine?

Dr. Ronald Mallette is working on a time travel machine using lasers to bend space. He feels we will soon have a working time machine that can send signals into the past by twisting space into a vortex.

Gas thief hit the tank

With prices for gasoline so high, they puncture the tank. It is almost like hitting a bank. A large truck can carry 30 gallons at $4/gal for gas that is $120. Gas thieves are getting more crafty as the steal fuel.

I predict that we will see fuel rationed in the future.

LED bulbs are energy savers

Say goodbye Edison light bulb and make way for LED. The humble LED has a much longer life 100,000 hours versus 400 and uses less power 3 watts versus 100. The CFL uses 24 watts and last 8000 hours.

I have said before that the LED is the future and here they are.

DOW drops nearly 400 points

It was a dark day on Wall Street as storm clouds are gathering. A one two punch of high oil and low housing prices has damaged the economic picture. Our situation is grim, so now we face a dramatic drop in stock. I predict that we will go under 10,000 in 2009.

Floating Wind Turbine

A new idea for the future is floating wind turbines. Basically it is a hybrid of a blimp and a windmill. The blimp is filled with helium and the windmill is placed in the upper atmosphere where high winds are common.

Food production increase?

Monsanto says it wants to double food production in 20 years. Actually, here is the problem. The new types of corn have higher yield, but need more water and fertilizer than the old.

It is water that is critical. Due to global warming the evaporation rate is higher and the soil is dryer. The new types of corn die a lot faster than the older more resistant types so the chance of famine is much greater.

I predict massive food shortages in the future. As the world runs out of food, there will be pressure to stop conversion of food to fuel. The biofuels are underfire because were are already short of food as it is. Walmart is rationing rice.

Car trouble

GM will close four automobile plants that make large SUV and trucks. The company lost over two billion this year due to a strike and high gasoline prices. Also the iconic Hummer that is made in Indiana may be dropped. At 7mpg the least efficient vehicle in the world.

I predict that the gas guzzling Corvette made in Kentucky will also be on the list. The appetite is now for fuel efficient cars like the Tata Nano. The plastic pig is a gas hog whose day has come and gone.

Life on Mars?

The Phoenix probe today is examineing Martian ice for sign of life. The abundance of ice on Mars means that life could exist on the Martian polar icecap.

These are exciting times to live in.
